I love winters in Florida! This picture is from last year. The Sandhill Crane pecked on our sliding glass door every morning to get his breakfast.
2-year old Trenton Duckett was reported missing from his home on August 27, 2006 at approximately 9:00 PM. His whereabouts are still unknown. Please, if you have ANYTHING that you think might be even slightly important or if you THINK you saw Trenton, call 1-877-TRENT65 and report it.

Jolynna,
Where was this in Florida? My boyfriend and I were planning on visiting Florida this summer but were advised that it wasn’t the best season. Any advice for two interested people with no Florida experience?
Best wishes,
Caroline

Caroline,
As a Floridian who loves the place year round, the best way I know to answer your question is with another one of my own: What would you want to get out of your trip?
Yes, it is hot. And humid. But you know what, so is most of the rest of the East Coast right now. But whether or not it would be a good idea for you to vacation in Florida now really would depend on what you’d like to do, see, accomplish while you are here.
Florida has lovely, small towns, nice museums, lakes, the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf (one of my favorite vacations was to Cedar Key on the Gulf. We stayed in a house that was out in the water. Every morning I got up and sat on the balcony over the water, watching pelicans, the sunrise and once, dolphins. The town is either overcrowded for certain events, or totally quiet and sleepy.)
There is also big city life, if that is your preference, in each section of Florida–far south in Key West, then Miami, Orlando, Tallahassee. Take your pick. Each city has its own personality and fun.
Some people don’t like Florida because it is too touristy and overgrown. Others like it exactly for that reason. There really are tons of tourist attractions, but there is also a lot of fun Florida off the beaten track.

Hello!
I am a writer for Suite101.com, and I would like to use your picture to accompany my article on the Florida Sandhill Crane.
May I do so?
Thank you,
